I’m pleased to announce we have a new rep in place for the Louisville area. Welcome, Nicole Bowen, to 520 East Brands.

I met Nicole a few weeks ago while I interviewed several great candidates to take on the role of building relationships in boutiques across this local area. The first thing I noticed about her was that we have very similar taste in clothing, and that she has great shoes. And when she stood up, I noticed she’s just barely taller than I am (ok, 3 inches… but still).

Nicole has a very extensive background in sales, marketing and brand-building. She was in the market for a part-time gig now that she’s got life with a baby under control. I met with her this morning and handed over all the samples and details and she’s already off and running (now that’s a professional saleswoman).

Nicole brings so much to the table and I’m sure our clients will be thrilled with her delivery. As I’ve done with all product reps, I asked her a myriad of questions, so that everyone within the 520 East Brands community can get to know her better.

What is your career background, before coming to this position?
My background and passion has always been to work with consumer goods. I have a Communications degree from North Carolina State University (Go! Pack!) and have had the fortune to work on the development of several brands that I truly believe in. I love marketing and selling interesting products!

What’s your long term goal with 520 East Brands? What’s your daily schedule like on days you are working?
My long term goal with 520 East brands to establish a client base within the Louisville territory and hopefully help grow another territory one day! I also heard through the grapevine that there is a saleswoman of the year award. I want it.

On my “office days” I will be busy touching base with Louisville-area retailers face-to-face. Every day I will be available via phone or email answering questions and following up with my client base.

Where did you grow up?
I was born in Phoenix, but raised in Charlotte, NC. I am definitely a “Carolina girl” and love every inch of that state! From the mountains to the beach, you can do it all in NC!

What’s your “elevator pitch” about what you do?
My elevator pitch is that I represent a well-rounded line of products created for moms, all of which I believe in. I won’t put my name behind anything I don’t personally find useful and well-made.

What’s your favorite vacation of all time?

My favorite vacation of all time has to be the last trip my husband and I had before we had our daughter, Mamie. We went to Destin, FL for an extremely relaxed vacation. We did nothing special, but just spent the week doing everything TOGETHER and I will always treasure that time we had. We have yet to take a vacation with our little peanut, but I’m sure it will be fabulous when we do!

What’s the one place you’d love to go with your family?

The mountains have been on my mind a lot lately. I can just imagine the three of us tromping through some colorful leaves and then enjoying some time snuggled up with apple cider!

What’s your favorite restaurant in your local city?

This is probably completely controversial, but Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot. Being a southern girl, I cannot get enough BBQ and their pork is so tender and they have the best sauce in town!

Nicole, we are so glad to have you on board and look forward to you meeting the rest of the team on our next group Skype!
